Life long horse trainer, Orcas Island native
I have had a strong passion for horses from an early age. Growing up on Orcas Island I participated in the local horse 4-H program from 11 to 18. I had the opportunity to work with a local trainer and get on a variety of horses from quarter horses and Arabs to Tennessee walking horses and Icelandic ponies.
After high school I attended Heartland Horseshoeing School in Missouri with the goal of being able to provide my horses with quality foot care no matter where life took us.
From there I worked in the horse and cattle industry from working ranches to packaging hunters into the mountains. I had the opportunity to expand my skills by traveling to Florida to groom for an Olympic hopeful trying for a spot on the U.S. dressage team.
Upon returning to the Pacific Northwest and the working ranches I dug into starting unhandled colts and a few mustangs.
In August of 2021 I returned to my hometown of Eastsound, Washington and opened Offshore Equine. I have a great passion for quality care and offer retirement boarding, western performance horses, absentee and offseason boarding. I also offer training, colt starting, halter breaking, consignment and hauling in the Islands and beyond.
